Walking.

Walking is something I used to think as a waist of time. I wouldn’t walk because I could not understand what I could get out of it. It’s not as intense as “actually” working out and it’s a waist of time..

On the contrary it’s none of that really. Walking can be a very tranquil experience, when done right. Yesterday, I went for a walk in Lantana’s Nature Preserve with my husband. It was actually pretty exiting because you didn’t know if an animal was going to show up. There were many squirrels and my husband saw an iguana jump from a tree.

Even if there were no animals it would still have been a pleasant experience. Feeling the warmth of the sun on my skin and the rocks underneath my feet was such a bonding experience to the nature around me. I felt connecting to the planet and to myself. All the worries of tomorrow melted away and I was just thinking about now.

So my message in saying all of this is… Go for a walk. Somewhere you have never been. Try that “boring” Nature Preserve you’ve drove by many times or go to that park. Take a walk. It’s not as bad as it seems. 🙂
